July 26, 2012 – The Ismail Akhmetov Foundation and Musivum Gallery invited guests to the finissage of SportCulture!, the exhibition of Olga Soldatova inaugurated on May 28 in Moscow.

The evening, which marked the official closing of the exhibition, was occasion to present the accompanying catalog, with texts by the curator Сhristina Steinbrecher, Maxim Krekotnev, Irina Kulik, Margherita DeMichiel and Anna Tolstova. Both the artist and curator were in attendance.

SportCulture! featured a series of mosaic panels of semi-precious stones, beads, glass smalti and stone, which depict athletic heroes from the Russian era of Great Style. The catalog authors spoke about the historical significance of these images and the contemporary implications that inspired Soldatova.
